Modeling the effect of addiction on social wellfare of society with an emphasis on health: Case Study of Iran

Introduction: Drug abuse has imposed high economic and social costs through its destructive effects on people 's health and increased crime and mortality.This affects the social welfare through the impact on the health of the consumer. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to model the effects of addiction on social wellfare with an emphasis on health in Iran.  Method:this study is  a descriptive-analytic research and based on data collection is survey study that studied using the questionnaire was made by the researcher. The statistical population includes experts in the field of crime and addiction (sample 10 people) and addicts under the supervision of Tehran's addiction centers (sample 384 people). to explain the research model we used methods of delphi, fuzzy2, electre 3, and structural equation model. Findigs: The results of the research show that the Economic factors ,individual factors , cultural factors , social factors , political factors , psychological factors have  respectively a positive and significant effect on addiction. According to these results, changing the index of economics factors; decreases the welfare about 0.591 units; and by  changing the health index, welfare increased as much as 0.728 units. conclusion: the results of this study can be an important step in determining priority factors and their impact on the spread of addiction and consequently the prevention of negative effects of addiction in health and social welfare.
